Hello there!

I’m María, a Brand & Digital Designer working across visual identity, digital products and design systems.

My background in branding and product design has taught me to think beyond how a brand looks. I’m interested in how people experience and use it. I enjoy asking questions, researching audiences and finding connections before turning ideas into clear, flexible systems.

I work collaboratively with designers, developers and stakeholders, using feedback and user behaviour to improve the work over time.

I’m happiest somewhere between a messy collection of ideas and the moment they start becoming a system.

Collaboration and mentoring

I enjoy working in teams where ideas can be questioned and developed collaboratively. At VisitScotland, I helped coordinate design workflows and worked closely with developers as we built our design system, turning what had sometimes been a difficult relationship between design and development into a more collaborative way of working.

I’ve also supported junior designers through feedback, prioritisation and day-to-day guidance. I don’t see leadership as having all the answers — I’m more interested in creating enough structure and trust for people to contribute ideas, challenge decisions and do their best work.
